Energy Revolution Ventures Targets $50M for Second Electrification Fund

London‑based venture capital firm Energy Revolution Ventures (ERV) announced the first close of its second fund, ERV Fund II, aiming to raise $50 million. The new fund, which exceeds the $18 million raised for its inaugural vehicle, will focus on early‑stage investments in electrification technologies, including energy storage, grid solutions, advanced materials, renewable fuels and carbon capture.

Backed by a $13.5 million anchor commitment from UK energy provider Centrica, ERV intends to invest in seed and Series A rounds. The firm highlights the accelerating demand for electricity driven by the electrification of transport, heating, industry and the rapid expansion of data centres, creating heightened pressure on grids and related infrastructure.
