BlueOrchard Secures $250 Million for Climate Finance Fund Targeting Emerging Markets

BlueOrchard, the impact‑investment arm of Schroders, announced the first close of its Climate Action Mobilisation Fund (BOCAMF) with $250 million in commitments. The blended‑finance vehicle aims to channel long‑term institutional capital into climate mitigation and adaptation projects across emerging and frontier economies, primarily through senior loans to banks, micro‑finance institutions and other lenders that support small‑ and medium‑sized enterprises.

The fund’s structure combines public or philanthropic capital with private investment to lower risk barriers for climate‑focused technologies. By diversifying between financial‑institution lending and direct corporate loans, BOCAMF seeks attractive risk‑adjusted returns while addressing the financing shortfall identified by BlueOrchard for global climate objectives.
